Villa Amarone

The fortress is dated back from the X Century when it was donated from a noble family to the Abbey of Poggibonsi.

At the beginning of the Sixteenth century it became a sumptuous villa and humanities center and in 1700 still had traces of thick castle walls, with gates and towers and an underground road that united the local village with San Gimignano.

Today, after a careful restoration done with particular attention to preserve

the beauty and authenticity of the place, the fortress has become an historical dwelling of charm of over 500 square metres that is rent on a weekly base.

The residence can accommodate up to 12 people in 5 elegant double rooms with en-suite bathroom and a suite.

The large spaces remember the ancient country houses with floors and ceilings in terracotta, the chestnut wood beams, the arches, the vaults and the beautiful fireplaces that make revive a unique and precious atmosphere.

The limited number of people ensure an "home from home" feeling and the secluded position makes it an ideal place for those looking for a private, exclusive location with all comforts.

All rooms overlook the stunning panorama of the Tuscan countryside with the rising towers of San Gimignano in the background. All rooms have an en-suite bathroom, air conditioning, heating, safe.

The ground floor consists of a twin bedroom suitable for handicapped, a large functional kitchen (equipped with oven, microwave, toaster, coffee and American coffee machine, dishwasher, refrigerator with freezer, iron and ironing board), an intimate studio with Internet connection, a large and comfortable lounge with satellite tv and a large living/dining room with a "conversation area" in front of an old chimney to rediscover the pleasure of ancient time conviviality.

On the first floor there are 3 double bedrooms and 1 twin bedroom.

On the tower, located on the second floor, a prestigious apartment with a living room with fireplace, a large double bedroom and a bathroom.

Outdoor a private garden with a gazebo and a swimming pool (6x12 square metres) with a beautiful pergola. The villa is part of a farm that produces olive oil, pure saffron of San Gimignano, herbs, cereals.
