The Palace was built in 14th century as the residence of a Spanish noble family and it is considered one of the masterpieces of Sicilian Gothic art in which the Arabian and Norman architectures merge. Civil weddings take place in the beautiful marriage room at the first floor, reachable by an external stone stairway. It is an impressive room with stone walls and big windows facing to the gardens. The Palace is situated just off the amazing Corso Umberto, the main street in Taormina running from one end of the historic center to the other. This pedestrian street is lined with shops, restaurants, gelaterie and cafes.
