A Baroque jewel in the trendy Trastevere districtIn 1642 Duchess Camilla a Roman noblewoman engaged the Baroque architect Francesco Borromini to design a convent for the Augustinian nuns. In 2008, after a careful restoration, the convent was converted into an elegant 4-star hotel. The hotel is set in the heart of lively Trastevere area, but the high walls surrounding the venue and the gardens make the venue an oasis of calm. Ancient and modern blend beautifully together in the elegant interiors: vaulted ceilings, precious frescoes, marble staircase, period furnishing and all the comforts and amenities of 21st century. Each of the 99 rooms and suites, which in the past times hosted the nuns, has its own unique characteristics. |
