A Baroque jewel in the trendy Trastevere district

In 1642 Duchess Camilla a Roman noblewoman engaged the Baroque architect Francesco Borromini to design a convent for the Augustinian nuns. In 2008, after a careful restoration, the convent was converted into an elegant 4-star hotel.

The hotel is set in the heart of lively Trastevere area, but the high walls surrounding the venue and the gardens make the venue an oasis of calm.

Ancient and modern blend beautifully together in the elegant interiors: vaulted ceilings, precious frescoes, marble staircase, period furnishing and all the comforts and amenities of 21st century. Each of the 99 rooms and suites, which in the past times hosted the nuns, has its own unique characteristics.

For your wedding day there is a wide choice of areas to live special moments with glamour:

  • The romantic cloister with a lush garden, fountain, citrus trees and fragrant flowers.
  • Sala Borromini, the old refectory of the convent with Renaissance paintings and coffered wooden ceiling.
  • The amazing rooftop terrace, with its bird’s eye views of the surrounding neighbourhood, including the Campo de Fiori, Piazza Navona, and the Tiber. A magic place at sunset.
  • A Roman cave from the 1st century AD for the after dinner
