You may already be aware that there are certain restrictions and conditions regarding wedding ceremonies here in Rome Italy. In Italy, you cannot celebrate a Civil wedding in any given venue selected by you. Here, Civil ceremonies can only be held in the Town Hall or in a venue designated by the local municipality for wedding ceremonies. We do have some very beautiful locations here in Rome. This means you have the option of marrying in a Civil ceremony but in a beautiful and exclusive typical Italian location.

If you wish to get married at your favorite private Roman locations (e.g. luxury hotel, villa, castle) you may wish to consider a non-denominational ceremony; this kind of ceremony, in fact, can be celebrated at any private locations and it has legal validity.

In Rome the following three splendid venues are available for Civil ceremonies:

  • The sumptuous Campidoglio marriage hall, that stands on Capitoline hill.
  • The former church of Caracalla marriage hall, very spacious and suggestive.
  • The intimate Villa Lais marriage hall, with frescoed walls and antique furniture (Monday, Friday and Saturday)

Among the three, Campidoglio is the most renowned and elegant marriage hall; Caracalla is the most suggestive and Villa Lais the more intimate.

As a possible alternative, you could get married in a location nearby Rome. Near Rome, in fact, there are a few fantastic small medieval towns where you could celebrate a stunning event.

Rome Municipality applies different rates between a week-day and a week-end. Current 2024 fees as follows:

Campidoglio hall:
Friday (9am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm): € 1,392,00
Saturday (9am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm): € 1,624,00
Sunday (9am to 12pm): € 1,624,00

Caracalla hall:
Thursday, Friday (9am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm): € 1,392,00
Saturday (9am to 12pm and 4pm to 6pm): € 1,624,00
Sunday (9am to 12pm): € 1,624,00

Villa Lais hall (CURRENTLY CLOSED FOR RESTORATION):
Monday, Friday (9am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 6:30pm): € 1,392,00
Saturday (9am to 12:30pm and 3pm to 6:30pm): € 1,624,00
