Because of its historical renown, it was the first Italian wine to be awarded DOC status, in 1966.

Enjoy the town at evening time, when the alleyways are empty and you can wander in the yellow light of street lamp. Relax in Piazza della Cisterna, centered around a 1237 well and guarded by the tall medieval towers.

Visit the Duomo (Collegiata), in unmistakable Romanic style that hosts the masterpieces of renaissance painters such as Il Ghirlandaio, or the Museo Civico that conserve paintings from Pinturicchio and many others.

Civil weddings in San Gimignano are hosted in one of the most beautiful Medieval palaces in town: Palazzo del Popolo, built in the XIII Century.
